Stratum Biosciences closes $2M seed round with HBS Alumni Angels, co-led by Dave Edwards

April 2026 — Stratum Biosciences closed a $2 million seed round with support from HBS Alumni Angels of Greater New York (HBSAANY). Stratum is a dermatology discovery company using a proprietary AI platform and a library of over 200,000 real tissue samples to accelerate the development of new active ingredients and formulations for cosmetic and pharmaceutical skin products. Our partner Dave Edwards co-led the deal for HBSAANY members alongside Tim Gordon; Stratum later sat down with Dave, Tim and Betsy Cohen to discuss why they backed the company.
